With Purdue having a down year, this might be the medicine that they need to get their season turned around. Purdue has a couple of players who might make this an upset special. Most of you know that I have been talking about IU all season long, but I haven’t forgotten about the Train. Just because Indiana is having a special year now, doesn’t mean it won’t crumble later. So who are the Boilers that I will be watching? Senior D.J. Byrd, to see how well he will play against Mr. Oladipo. Purdue needs something good to happen. I’m very proud of where I come from. Being a native of West layfette Indiana, it would make me very happy if the Boilers gave the Hoosiers a run for their money. Everything has to go right for the Boilers to pull off a major upset. This is the 7th ranked team in the country that Purdue is playing. D.J. is going to have to play the game of his life to pull off an upset over their southern Indiana neighbor. Another player I will be keeping my eye on is freshman A.J. Hammons. The big key for A.J. will be controlling the nerves and running the plays right. This game could be his coming out party. If he can control the nerves and hang with the Hoosiers on both ends of the floor, I think it’s going to come down to execution. If the Boilers execute their system the right way, I predict an upset special. But if they don’t execute and run their offense the right way, it’s going to be a sad day in West Lafayette, because Oladipo and Zeller will make the Boilers pay for everything. I always love watching Indiana college basketball, because the student body at Mackey Arena makes it fun, just like they do at Assembly Hall. I think anybody from the state of Indiana loves the Hoosiers and the Boilers. It just so happens that Tom Crean’s boys are number seven, and that Matt Painter and his boys are not rated, so I would be very careful to stop, look, and listen before I crossed the tracks if I was IU. I feel that this game could be very special for D.J and A.J, if they listen to their coaching staff. It will also be exciting for Matt their head coach as well!
