When you are on national TV five times during the regular season, you are supposed to play really good during the preseason, especially when you are at home. But the Colts did not play in the fourth quarter like they did in the first three quarters. Also, in last night’s News and Notes, Curtis Painter, who used to be with the Colts and used to be wearing Black and Gold, now plays on the New York Giants. The former Purdue Boilermaker decided to be a thorn in the side of the Colts last night and helped the New York Giants make the Luke their home. If this is a team who is allegedly supposed to be 12 and 4 like most of my colleagues are saying, I haven’t seen it yet. Hopefully by the time the Colts get loaded up and board a plane for Colorado, all the inconsistencies will be a thing of the past, and the Colts will look like a team that will challenge the Broncos for the AFC crown. I know it’s just preseason, but come on, gentlemen who wear the horseshoe on your helmet, that was an inexcusable performance last night. You get an F plus from jeremiahboyce.com. When you are ahead 26-0 and Andrew plays so brilliantly in the first half, you can’t quit, you’ve got to bury the team you’re playing. You have to step on their throat, especially if it’s Eli when they have Curtis Painter on their bench. I don’t care if it’s preseason or not, leave Adam in the game. He is one of the NFL’s all-time greatest kickers. Who is this Cody Parkey? I know I have heard of him before, but he shouldn’t make the Colts team. We don’t need him when we’ve got Adam Vinatieri on our side. Thank you very much, Chuck Pagano.
