The Sheriff’s Patrol had a opportunity today to sit down with the 2020-21 Captain for your Bismarck Bobcats. The first topic we covered with Austin Schwartz was how he felt about wearing the “C”, which indicates that it is one of the biggest roles you take on in hockey. Austin said it felt like it was a huge responsibility, because you represent the team on and off the ice. We also discussed how Austin felt about playing new blood in the Fairbanks Ice Dogs this weekend. He said that he and the Bobcat team were excited that they were not playing the Tauros or the Wings again. The Bobcats are currently 0-7 this year when it comes to playing the defending champion Aberdeen Wings. Also, Schwartz noted that if they beat Fairbanks, they would leapfrog their way past Minot and surge their way up to second place, which would set them up for a good second half of the season. Who knows if Scott Langer’s team will ever relinquish their stranglehold on the number one position. Only time will tell.
