Yesterday was opening day on the pitch in Sao Paulo, Brazil. For a while it looked like the host nation was in trouble when they scored on their own net. Brazil started out of sync, but in the second half they looked like the five-time champions that they are. There were some questionable referees. Croatia was given a call that they should have never been given and they were furious. Brazil was allowed to then go ahead and tie the game and then take the lead because of a bad call. FIFA should be ashamed of themselves. The referee needs his eyes checked. I guarantee you that was not a penalty. The referee should be banned for the rest of the tournament if he is going to make calls that are going to put the teams in peril. Soccer should not be about the refs. It should be about the players and the countries they play for.
