Even though most of the country likes LeBron, I despise him. So you may think why would a Pacers fan root for the Heat? I am kind of torn because I want to see Frank Vogel get his first Title, but that would mean Miami would go down. I like the kid from Michigan, Duncan Robinson. He has good basketball IQ. The problem is he and his team beat Pacer Nation, and you know how I have deep affinity for them. So I don’t want the Heat to heat up, but if they do, you have to say congratulations on being the king of the NBA. Frank used to be welcome in Pacer Nation, but now he is a villain to Pacer Nation. In 49 other states, it’s just a game, but in Indiana, basketball is a religion. I don’t know what to do with my pick. Do I give it to Frank and LeBron, or do I root for the kid with high basketball IQ? Part of me wants to give the nod to Frank, because he was a disciple of Pacer Nation, but the other part of me wants to cover Duncan Robinson and Pat Riley and your Miami Heat. I still remember what LeBron did to our Nation when he was in the Central and in the East. He would whop the yellow and gold, and that would make Mark Boyle unhappy, and Bobby Leonard would say, go get him! However, the Pacers wouldn’t listen to their old coach and then instead of announcing the game, he would coach from the radio booth, and that would draw my ire. Because I would know what they needed to do and that would make me want to climb out of my chair and get in the car and drive to Indy and put a Pacer uniform on and show the boys how to get their hands up and defend LeBron. So I say, kill the Heat and make the air conditioning in Miami not work right. Go get em, Frank!
