Marian Hossa scored what proved to be the final tally of the season for Pittsburgh at 18:33 of the third, giving the Red Wings a Stanley Cup. The Red Wings showed the heart of a champion making Nicklas Lidstrom the first European captain to hoist the Stanley Cup. This was Detroit’s 11th Stanley Cup.
