The following is a special presentation of Jeremiahboyce.com, and the material that you going to read belongs exclusively to Jeremiahboyce.com. Any reuse of my material is strictly prohibited! On Friday, we had an exclusive look on everything Patriot football. I got the chance to talk to senior inside linebacker Jacob Barth, and sophomore quarterback Dalton Feeney. I began our coverage from Century’s training room with senior linebacker Jacob Barth. I found out what the senior likes about being an inside linebacker. Jacob said that he likes being the leader on the defensive attack. Barth also said that there are 33 seniors this year on the Patriots roster and that includes Barth, which doesn’t happen very often. Jacob has an uncle who played linebacker in the 70’s at Minot State and holds a few records there. Barth also stated that being a linebacker fits him and he thinks his body makes the fit better. Jacob also told me that he has a big pit in his stomach due to losing to the Demons the last two years. The senior has no individual goals, but he expects the red white and blue to be able to challenge for another state football championship.
After I was done with the senior linebacker, I had the opportunity to sit down and go over what the second signal collar expects and goes over before he goes into battle with his teammates. We asked the sophomore if having his dad on the coaching staff was any added pressure, and he said “not really. I actually work better with him.” I then went on to ask Dalton what he goes over with his dad Kevin Feeney? Dalton says “my dad makes me write down plays and I study them at home with his help.” His biggest fear is being blind sided by a defensive end. I asked Dalton what he expects in the non-conference portion of the schedule, and he stated that Fargo South and Fargo Davies will be tough.
I will have your exclusive coverage of the Fargo South – Patriots battle beginning on September 6th. I will also cover the “Pats” when they go on their battle in the West conference, and also the battle with Mark Gibson and the BHS Demons.
