Sparta, KY. This is an event that I don’t normally cover, but Thursday night was really interesting to me in more ways than one. It was interesting because Ty Dillon was driving a familiar number that used to belong to Dale Earnhardt Sr, until he was killed in a terrible crash in the last lap of the 2001 Daytona 500. Dillon also happens to be the grandson of Richard Childless, so this was a very interesting story for me. It was also because of the fact that the Sprint Cup Champion was also in the truck race. The race was very exciting because Kyle Busch did not win. He had a truck that he over drove. Maybe Brad can carry the momentum that he had on Thursday night and carry it in to tonight’s Feed the Children 300 for the Nationwide series, and then follow that up with a win on Saturday. Anything can happen in the Sprint Cup, but I never thought that we be writing about the champ without a win. There are several people that I would like to thank for making last night’s race sound so interesting. The first one is from Atlanta, Georgia Mike Bagley. You can hear him on the morning drive on the NASCAR channel on Sirius XM Radio. I would also like to thank a surprise guest last night. He is usually on the pit road for the Sprint Cup, his name is Steve Letarte. He is the Crew Cheif for Dale Jr. I didn’t know he was going to be there. He and Mike Bagley made it a really interesting night to work, because you never know what goes on in a crew cheif’s head. Steve was questioning Brad Keslowski and why he kept going into the pit a lot during last night’s race. I would like to try and get an interview with Mike Bagley for my website.
