It was time to honor the Champs for those who were unable to be at game 7 on Wednesday night in Cleveland Ohio. The past season was filled with a lot of drama. The American League was unable to defend their title this year as the Clevenland Indians were in trouble from the word go. To me, the Indians had no team unity, while the Cubs were more battled tested. They were facing extinction after game four and they refused to fold. Even in the NLCS, the Cubs were facing adversity being down 2-1 to the Dodgers with games four and five yet to be played in Los Angeles. The Cubs finished all three series by playing very good fundamental baseball.
Today at the ceremony honoring the champion Cubs in Chicago, it was a team overwhelmed by an estimated one million faithful fans young and old. Also, past teams, players, and announcers were remembered by the current world champions, who were not able to ever participate in a World Series game.
The future looks very bright for the world champions and their core of young players, and they are not expected to come down from their mountain top anytime soon.
