Kansas City, Missouri. Going into the game on Monday night, the Tigers knew that they needed one win or one White Sox loss, and the Central Division would be owned by the Tigers for the second straight year. The Tiges won the Central Division last year with 95 wins. All year long, the White Sox were in front of the Tigers, but this team had a special mentality. The Tigers proved that you can never underestimate the heart of a champion.
Miguel Cabrera is in line to possibly win the triple crown, in RBI’s, hitting, and home runs. On Monday night, Cabrera hit his 44th home run in the Tigers 6-3 win over the Royals. No one knows the future, but I see the Tigers possibly going two-stepping with the Texas Rangers. This could not have happened without the Tigers art of pitching. The Tigers do not know who they will take on in round one of the playoffs. Whoever it is should fear the Tigers, because they are playing great baseball at the right time. As for the art of pitching, the Tigers finally found how to be artists again. The Royals had nothing to play for, meanwhile the Tigers had everything to play for. I think that when you have everything in front of you and people are doubting you, that gives you more motivation to say “in your face, Chicago” and the rest of the baseball world. You should give credit to Mr. Leyland for giving the Tigers a manager of the year effort. If he doesn’t get manager of the year, this will be a crime that I will never forget, because the Tigers played their hearts out for Jim Leyland.
