After a heart-stopping win on Sunday over Brazil, the US women were one step closer to the World Cup finals. To get to the soccer promised land, they were faced with a big task. They had to make sure they were not overly confident. Nine minutes in, they scored a goal, making it 1-0 USA. The goal was scored by Lauren Cheney. Cheney scored what would to prove to be the half time score. At the start of the second half, France had the momentum, and got the game tied at 1-1. Insert Abby Wambach. After the Wambach goal, the US seized the momentum. The US would put the nail in the coffin with Alex Morgan putting France away, and sealing a trip to the World Cup Finals on Sunday.
