On Saturday afternoon, Wayne State College took on the U Mary Marauders, and for most of the game, it was a back and forth battle. It was the Wayne State quarterback Nick Bohn show. He played outstanding, using his legs and his arm. When U Mary called a time out in the first quarter, Wayne State must have been listening in on the Marauders huddle, because the Marauders were picked off, leading to a Wayne State touchdown. that made the score 7-0. Wayne State would later double the score to 14-0. The Marauders would answer, making the score 14-7 at halftime. In the third quarter, the Wildcats would go ahead 27-21. But U Mary would have an answer, and would grab the lead 28-27. But it wouldn’t last as Wayne would put the final dagger in the Marauders with a final score of 33-28.

U Mary is not going to be an easy win for anybody this year, because they have heart and they will fight with you for four quarters. This football team did not look like the 4-7 team from a year ago. You have momentum swings on either side of the ball, and I think U Mary played a great game, just coming five points short.

My thanks to former Marauder Alvin Grays and coach Craig Bagnell for the unprecedented access that was granted to jeremiahboyce.com. I will be listening next Saturday when U Mary takes on Winona State.
