On Sunday afternoon, the Nextel Cup invaded Indy. Most of the focus was on last year’s Brickyard 400 winner Kyle Larson. But little did the media know, the focus would shift to Mobile Alabama native Darrell “Bubba” Wallace. Wallace would make history on Sunday by becoming the first black driver to win the Brickyard 400. His crew chief, Charles Denike was very instrumental in helping Bubba get his third win and the prestige that comes with the Brickyard. The night was topped off by a trip to Indy’s victory lane, where Bubba Wallace kissed the bricks. His team is owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. Bubba now gets to compete for the right to become Nextel Cup champion. The win was very popular at the Brickyard with other drivers and fans alike.
