On Friday night, it was time to welcome the Bobcats back from Blaine, where they had a stellar Showcase, to the friendly confines, otherwise known as the VFW Sports Center. In the Showcase, Bismarck only had a 4-3 loss to Fairbanks, but they won the other two games against New Mexico and Anchorage. On Friday, it was time for the Bismarck fan base to see their team in action against the Watertown Shamrocks. Friday night was a 5-3 win in which Bismarck had to hold on to earn the “W”. Saturday was more of a rough and tumble game that included a “yard sale” on the ice as observed by Bismarck radio announcer Josh Bartosik. After the yard sale was completed, Bismarck struck on the power play and for and all intents and purposes put the game away. The final score was Bismarck 4, Watertown 2. Watertown plays host to the Bobcats Friday and Saturday at the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena in Shamrock land. I expect Bismarck to be business like and earn another four points.
