The Bismarck Bobcats began season number 30 on the road in the Cloudy City with two wins over the St. Cloud Norsemen. For St. Cloud it was the beginning of a bounce back. They finished last year in sixth place, but I think they will be better this year. Bismarck ended last year losing to Aberdeen in the playoffs in a best of five series. Season number 30 will end up with Bismarck laying claim to Lord Robbie, and jeremiahboyce.com will have the Cats covered from beginning to end.
This week, the NAHL has its annual Showcase in Blaine Minnesota, which starts for the Bobcats on Wednesday at 4:30 when they play the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. Then they play the New Mexico Ice Wolves on Friday at 3:00. On Saturday, the Bobcats will close out the Showcase with a battle against the Anchorage Wolverines at 3:15.
A third year begins for Garrett Roth as the bench boss for the Bobcats, and unlike last year’s loss to Aberdeen, this year will culminate with Garrett and the boys holding up the NAHL’s oldest trophy, otherwise known as the Robbie.
