Let’s meet a first year Bobcat, Jason Fabian. He hails from a small town of about 2,800, Roseau, MN. For those of you who might not know, he is the younger brother of former UND player Eric Fabian. Jason, a 6’4” 185 pounder, was a three-sport star at Roseau High School. When asked if he would like to play for the Green and White, Fabian answered , “that would be a lot of fun. Right now, I’m just focusing on playing here. If I got the chance, though, I’d definitely play for the Sioux.” Jason said he had been skating since he was three years old. His favorite hockey player is Joe Sakic (Avalanche), but he patterns his game after Ryan Getzlaf (Ducks). Fabian hopes that the fans come out every night. “I like a great crowd. It’s not as fun with empty seats.” Fabian said that he learned a few things from his brother (Eric), “always keep your feet moving. Shoot the puck whenever possible, because a shot on net is never a bad play.” In his first year as a Bobcat, Jason wants to be a part of the team, “the guy they want on the ice when the game is on the line, help take the team far, and score a few points in the meantime.” Jason scored his first goal as a Bobcat, against the Blizzard, in their first game at home.
