Alexandria, Minnesota. This is just like a playoff series. Tonight, the Bobcats had the chance to tie the series at 1, but instead it would be Alexandria putting the Bobcats in the inexcusable position of being stuck with 42 points on the year. The Bobcats, who are the defending NAHL champions, have yet to put together a full 60 minutes in 2011. After Wednesday night’s game in which they fell flat on their faces in their own building and let Alexandria control the game from the very beginning, it lead Alexandria to a 4-2 win. Number 31 Ryan Faragher has his head in college instead of on defending an NAHL title. For the second straight game, it would be Faragher with his head on the swivel as he would let pucks fly by him. Which is something you can not have from someone who is supposed to be the MVP of the defending champions. Here is your score recap from tonight’s embarrassment. Alexandria got on the board first, taking the life out of the Bobcats early and often, making the score 1-0 A-town. Tucker Coborn started the embarrassment for the Bobcats by tucking the puck past a clearly not ready to play Faragher. Alexandria doubled the embarrassment to 2-0 with Kevin McMorrow’s first goal in the NAHL. The Bobcats finaly snapped out of their hibernation with a goal by Emerson Auvenshine making the score 2-1. Alexandria had an answer when they scored a 2 goal cushion, making the score A-town, 3 Bobcats 1. The Bobcats then cut into Alexandria’s cushion making it 3-2 A-town, but at the end of period 1 it was 4-2. Alexandria then scored another goal making it 5-2. The Bobcats made it interesting but interesting doesn’t count, and the Bobcats lost 6-5. The finale is scheduled for Saturday night at 7:15 at the VFW Sports Center.
