Bismarck, ND. For the second consecutive weekend, the Bismarck Bobcats swept a pair from Central Division foes. On Friday night it was North Dakota vs. South Dakota in the hockey version of the border battle, with the Aberdeen Wings vs. Bismarck. And it was a cakewalk for Bismarck, 7-2. On Saturday, it was the first installment of the Highway 83 rivalry. Minot Minotauros vs. The Bismarck Bobcats, with the Bobcats notching their sixth win of the year, and improving on the young season to 6 and 2. The Bobcats remind me of their former America West foes, the Billings Bulls for two reasons: their work ethic and number 20, Shane Omdahl. Omdahl reminds me of John Stockler because he is very fast on his feet and with the puck. Tommy Burke also reminds me of a Bulls net minder, Carbondale Colorado’s Jeremy High. I know it’s early on the season, but I am very impressed with the Bullish like attitude. A lot of that can be credited to former BHS goalie Layne Sedevie. Sedevie also played for a time in Billings.
