Bismarck- It was time for the Bobcats to begin defending their Central Division Title. Standing in thier way was first round opponent, the Albert Lea Thunder. The Thunder had the early jump on the number one seed Bismarck Bobcats. In between the pipes for the Bobcats was Jake Williams, who was very shakey, at best, allowing two early Alberta Lea goals. The first of the early Albert Lea goals came off the stick of number 61, Anthony Iaquinto at 2:50. The Bobcats had an answer in the form of a Sean McKenzie goal, tieing the score at 1-1 at 10:27. But then the number four seed Albert Lea struck back with a goal by former Bobcat, Niko Kapetanovic, making the score 2-1, Albert Lea, at 13:38. The Bobcats responded to the Kapetanovic goal with a goal by Tim Serratore tieing the game at 2-2 at 1:34 in the second period. Bismarck would not be denied on this night, as they would score two third period goals. The Bobcats grabbed a 1-0 series lead with game number two scheduled for Saturday, April 3, at 7:15 at the VFW Sports Center.
