The Bismarck Bobcats swept the lowly Minnesota Mallards on Friday and Saturday, and now sit three points behind the Austin Bruins after the Tauros failed to sweep them. The Tauros will come in to All Seasons Arena after the Bobcats take care of business against the Bruins at Riverside Arena this weekend. Here is the scoring summary from the weekend against the Mallards. On Friday, the Robertson Cup champions scored eight goals, compared to the Mallards four goals. On Saturday, the Bobcats scored nine goals compared to the Mallards one. Haydon Eckart scored his first career goal as a Bobcat on Friday. He hails from Bismarck Century High School.
The Bobcats need to go in to Riverside and play like they did against the Mallards. The Bruins have been looking like Central Division regular season champions all season long, but that doesn’t matter if you’re a Bobcat. I feel like Coach Roth will have them ready to play some serious hockey. They need to go in to Austin and take names and kick butt.
