Last Friday night at the Community Bowl, the Demons played rough with the Roughriders, and they defeated the Riders 28-0. Coach Gibson was nice enough to spend his Thursday evening with Jeremiahboyce.com before the Demons had to hit the road on Friday the 6th to play West Fargo. They hope to send the Packers packing. Coach Gibson and I talked about some serious Demon football. During the interview you will have fun reading about coach Gibson the coach, and then on the other side you will hear about Mark Gibson the dad, and Hayden Gibson, who is Mark’s son. Mark said “as a dad I was really proud of Hayden, but as a coach he missed some guys.” He also goes to summer camp, and he also throws the football in the winter time. Kole Bauer is not the quarterback, he is the running back for the BHS football team. Only Hayden Gibson is the quarterback. Mark said that the more game experience that Hayden gets, the better he will be. He is only a junior signal caller. That also means that he only has one more year with his father. As far as the battle with the Packers, coach Gibson said it will be 95 degrees in West Fargo so it will not be about wins and losses. “We are very concerned about the heat, so we will have different players in at all times.” Coach Gibson also said that his son is young, but he has worked very hard to get to where he is. When it comes to tonight’s battle with the Pack attack, it will be aired on 550 AM starting at 7pm central time. Coach Gibson went on to say that “hopefully tonight’s battle with West Fargo will prepare the team for the Blue Jays next week, which also starts the west region play.” Moving on to the defensive side of the football, Gibson said he was very pleased the way the defense played against the Roughriders. Coach Gibson then moved on to talk about tonight’s opponent. Gibson said “their quarterbacks are very mobile, so the defense has to keep the Packers quarterbacks in the pocket. We do not want them out of the pocket and running around our defensive linemen.” Coach Gibson spoke very warmly of Thomas Sease. He said he was an all-state player from last year and he also said that “he has a good motor.” Mark Gibson seems like a first class coach, and said that he is willing to work with the media in any way possible. As a matter of fact, he offered this website a chance to bring you closer to the players during the week of homecoming.
