With the Indians off today, the Tigers were looking to gain another game on the Tribe. After being anemic and unable to score any runs last night against the Rays, the Tigers offense came alive. That 8-0 mark belongs to Max Scherzer, who is looking like what number 35 is supposed to look like. Another thing about the Tigers win today was Victor Martinez finally hitting a home run, after his bat has been quiet up until now. With the win the Tigers finally get win number 32 of the season and put some distance between them and the tribe. They now have a two game lead on the tribe, who was swept by the Yankees prior to playing the boys from Motown. This is a big series coming up, and we do not want to give the Indians any hope of life. If the Tigers do what I think that they should be able to do, then by the time the series is over they should be able to put the Indians further away from the Tigers. If they sweep the Indians, the Tigers will have a six game lead heading on the road where they will play two minor league teams, the Royals and the Twins. We will be on the road with the Tigers when they head to the land of 10,000 lakes. You can follow my reporting of the game between the Tigers and the Twins starting at 7:05 on Friday, June 14th. Even though we don’t know who we going to see on the mound for the Tigers, we will see number 24 Miguel Cabrera as he continues his murdering of major league baseball on his way to another triple crown. There is so much that is good about the Tigers big man you guys don’t know what I’m about to see. I’m about ready to see today’s version of Carl Yastrzemski on his way.
