Major league baseball has reached the All Star break, so now it’s time for some fun. It all starts with tonight’s home run derby. It will be time to watch baseballs fly out of the Mets ball park. Hopefully, Fielder will defend his crown as the home run king. A guy to keep your eyes on will be Chris Davis from the Baltimore Orioles, because he has been bombing the baseballs out of the park. When it comes to tomorrow’s game, I’m definitely looking forward to watching Joe Mauer of the Twins, being the American League’s starting catcher. Mauer and the Twins really surprised me yesterday by beating the Yankees 10-4. If there was a player that I have to pick as my favorite to win, it would have to be Prince Fielder from the Tigers. Whoever manager Jim Leyland decides to go with for his starter, they shouldn’t worry about walking players. This is my favorite time of year, because whoever wins in New York tomorrow will have home field advantage for the fall classic. I really like how they put the two leagues against each other. This has always been interesting to me. Ever since they started adding extra incentives to the All Star game it has been fun to watch. I really don’t care who has home field advantage for the fall classic, because it’s all about trying to have fun and to try and beat your counterparts. The American League has a lot of big home run threats, but the National League has a lot of threats as well. If I had a league that I would like to see win, it would have to be the American League, because Jim Leyland is the manager of the American League. Next year, the All Star game will move to Minneapolis at Target Field.
