After being up 2-0 and a brilliant pitching performance from Sonny Gray, the Twins bullpen was hapless. The Guardians won it on a three run homer by Kole Calhoun in the 10th inning. This might have been Terry Francona’s last trip to Target Field. The Aberdeen, SD native Francona is in his 11th year with the Guardians. If the Twins don’t make the playoffs, they have nobody to blame but themselves. The Guardians are now five games behind front running Minnesota, after the Twins failed to take two out of three from the Guardians. The Twins are going two stepping in Texas over the weekend, while the Guardians take on Tampa Bay. Both teams are off today. The Tampa Bay Rays used to be the best team in baseball, but that distinction now belongs to the Atlanta Braves. Hopefully, the Guardians go into a long losing streak, while Minnesota gets hot in Texas.
