Yesterday, yours truly told you that Denny Hamlin doesn’t like to lose, and that he was going to be a pain in everybody’s side today. He proved this reporter right by carving Kevin Harvick up and winning the Pocono 350 over Harvick, who came in second. Hamlin also tied Fox TV’s Jeff Gordon, as he and Jeff have the same number of wins at the tricky triangle in the Pocono Mountains. Now Hamlin eyes one of NASCAR’s Crown Jewels, which would set him even further apart from the rest of the field. The Daytona 500 and The Brickyard 400 are two of NASCAR’s Crown Jewels. After winning NASCAR’s Super Bowl, the Daytona 500, for the third straight year, Hamlin is proving to be a threat to everyone else in the garage.

Today, the command to start drivers engines was given by Genevieve Johnson, who is Jimmie’s daughter. She was joined by her younger sister Lydia.
