For most of the day on Saturday, it looked like my headline would be about Aric Almirola, but in the end, it came down to whoever had the dominant car. Kevin proved to be the dominant car for Stewart Haas Racing. Aric Almirola drives the Smithfield Foods car for Stewart Haas, and has Mike Bugarewicz for crew chief. Buga used to be Clint Bowyer’s crew chief last year. Denny Hamlin finished number two, and was denied a sixth win at Pocono. Kyle Busch finished number five today, but according to Fox TV’s Jeff Gordon, he expects the defending champion to be able to make the right adjustments and become a threat for tomorrow’s 350, which will air on Fox Sports One at 4pm Eastern. This was only the beginning of NASCAR’s doubleheader weekend. I expect FedEx to be a pain in everybody’s side tomorrow, because Denny Hamlin doesn’t like losing.
