Last year we saw Jimmie Johnson own the yard of Jeremiah in the 19th running of the Brick yard. Can Jimmie get it done or will the Hoosier sun bake another hero besides Jimmie? Folks I have been in the heartland when it has been boiling out, so if anyone knows the heartland it’s going to be this reporter here on this website. If you don’t maintain your fluids then you will sweat. Imagine trying to go 400 miles on a speedway that is made out of brick, and in the summer time the bricks bake in the heartland. Whoever can exhibit the most stamina is going to be your winner. I have my favorite drivers Brad, Matt, Dale Jr, and “Smoke” that I will be watching. I will also be watching Ricky Stenhouse Jr as well. The set up of the cars will be the key as well as the driver’s stamina, and if the drivers stay hydrated. The crew chief’s ability to block out the heat and staying hydrated as well as listening to the drivers for the four hours. I can’t wait to see a favorite tradition, which is the kissing the bricks which was started in 1996 by the 88 driver Dale Jarrett who is now a color analyst for ESPN. It would be nice to see the Rochester Hills native finally get a win at the yard of Jeremiah. I took a liking to Brad last year when he wouldn’t give five time an inch last year in Chicago. Of course let’s not forget last year five time had enough stamina to become a winner and kiss Jeremiah’s bricks, but this year I think a man who knows Indianapolis very well will get his first win and cup, Roger Penske. Roger has kissed my bricks in May but has yet to kiss them in August. How can you not pick a man who has a rich history of kissing the bricks in May? Who is to say that Brad and Paul won’t exhibit toughness with five time or the rest of the field? It could go either way. Mr. Henrick might get lucky and see five time do it again. It all depends on your Saturday qualifying, which means a lot at the Indy track whether its May or July. Position means everything at Indy.
