Bloomington, Indiana. I know it’s early in the season, Hoosier fans, but the cream and crimson are out shining the black and gold in more ways than one. IU is playing the way Indiana is supposed to be represented, compared to the boys in West Lafayette, where Matt Paynter is following in the steps of his football team with an unacceptable brand of basketball. Somehow this year, the Boilers were given a lump of coal. Meanwhile, Tom Crean and the IU Hoosiers continue to make this Hoosier proud. They are now 12-1. I like what I see out of the Hoosiers and the Irish, but my hometown team has fallen flat on its face. It all started with the hopeless one. He was replaced with the smell of hazelnut coffee, to try and get the stink out of West Lafayette. Hazel became the first black head coach in Purdue history, and now he has the opportunity to lead the Boilers in a meaningless bowl game. Meanwhile, all eyes are clearly focused on Bloomington and South Bend, where the Irish are less than 15 days away from trying to stem the Tide. Some college programs have up and down years. That doesn’t mean I’m not a Boiler fan, but I am clearly disgusted with both sports programs, basketball and football. And if I was a reporter for the Journal and Courier, and for the Indianapolis Star, you would get the hard-hitting truth, just like you are on my website.
