Jeremy Mayfield has been suspended for violation of NASCAR’s drug policy.  Jim Hunter of NASCAR Communication would not specify what the substance Mayfield was using.  This has sent a clear message to NASCAR drivers who are in the spotlight for 36 weeks out of the year.  The message is that NASCAR is watching you, and you will be tested.  If you are caught, you will be suspended indefinitely.

Major League Baseball, are you listening?  Commissioner Selig, take note of what NASCAR did with Mayfield’s suspension.  Mr. Mayfield claims that it was a cold medicine.  Give me a break, Jeremy.  Face the consequences and be quiet.  Don’t claim that it was a cold medicine.  You know what you did.  You put your body at risk, and now you’ve paid for it.  You are suspended indefinitely.  You are going to fulfill your suspension and get reinstated, but you’re lucky that I’m not the Commissioner of NASCAR, because I would ban you for life.
