Charlotte, NC. Today was a big day for MWR in more ways than one. If most of you remember, Mark Martin will not have a ride next year. Instead, MWR has decided to go with a young man who had been fighting health problems. This time, Brian Vickers will take over for the now departing Mark Martin. Mark is also a native of Batesville Arkansas. Aarons will sponsor the whole season. This is a deal that makes me very happy, because Brian is one of the nicest guys in the garage. I like stories that are genuine. The one thing that I learned from today’s press conference is how determined Brian is to give MWR a championship. They have a driver who is currently sitting in 2nd place in the Sprint Cup series standings, Clint Bowyer. Clint is a native of Emporia, Kansas. Brian Vickers will have Rodney with him as the crew chief of the Aaron’s dream machine. Brian was at Red Bull racing before his health took him out of racing for awhile. He was also formerly a teammate to Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson at Hendrick Motors sports. I am going to be very excited to watch the progress of Mr. Vickers. Right now, Vickers is currently in the Nationwide series championship hunt. Your feel good story of the year is NASCAR’s Brian Vickers, because of all the adversity that he has gone through. It is very exciting to watch him in the Nationwide series. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. The only bad thing about the feel good story of the year is that Brian will be replacing Mark Martin. Martin, who should be a first ballot hall of famer in my mind, has been around for along time. In fact, I remember him at the Brickyard in 2001. He was driving the number 6 car for Jack Roush.
