Bismarck, North Dakota – Going into yesterday’s game the Grand Forks Royals were the top dogs in the state wide standings and looked to be a tough match up for the Governors, but that is why you play the game. After six strong innings from #2 Alex Bray, yesterday’s starting pitcher, the Bismarck Governors had held the Royals to just one run. That is, until the ninth inning where the Royals picked up 4 runs and made the final score 9-5. You will hear from 3rd baseman Tyler Richter although there is no relation to the Bobcat’s Tyler Richter. Tyler Richter attended Bismarck High School where he played basketball until he hurt his knee. This fall Tyler Richter will be attending college at Minot State University, home of the Beavers, where he will play baseball. Richter was asked if he had any aspirations of someday playing in the major leagues and he stated “I hope so.” Also, you will hear from head coach Mike Skytland on his starter’s performance. When asked about his starter Alex Bray, he said that the curveball was working. Skytland was asked what the team needed to improve going into the River Rivalry and he stated that they needed to hit consistantly and make fewer errors. I also asked Mike if he was nervous about the Royals late comeback attempt and he said that he was when they started scoring. Thanks to Rebecca Boyce for help with the photos.
