Indianapolis, Indiana. Going in to the game on Thursday night with the Milwaukee Bucks, there were several questions I had about the Pacers. One of the questions was answered right away. How good would the Pacers play against Milwaukee, since Milwaukee had nothing to play for, and the Pacers obviously do? Sometimes teams fall into certain traps, and lay down and think they’ve got the game won, and that certainly was not the case from the opening tip to the final buzzer with the Pacers and the Bucks. A win is a win; we will take it! But the way the Pacers let Milwaukee hang around I thought it was unacceptable. It was win number 44 of the season for Indiana. If the Pacers want to make a run at the Larry O’Brien Trophy, then they better find a way to step on the mediocre teams right away. This Saturday night it will be case in point when they go to Boston. The Pacers must get the ball in to Hibbert right away, and they also have to attack Boston’s defense right away. The Pacers must make sure they set the pace right away against the Celtics, so the Pacers can take away their confidence. I don’t know what the deal was last night, but the Pacers let Milwaukee hang around and feel confident, and you can’t be doing that. This is the time of the season when the Pacers have to sharpen up their game, because sooner or later the Pacers will have to play Lebron James, and you know that he wants a shot at us. Everybody in the Pacers family including yours truly want Lebron James to come to Indianapolis where the fans can get a little rowdy.
