Indianapolis, Indiana. When you have a team that is supposed to be behind you in the standings, you are supposed to step on their throats, and not let them almost come back on you. The Pacers announcer Bobby “Slick” Leonard made a very good point. He said that the NBA playoffs are just like the NCAA Playoffs. One series and you’re done. Mark Boyle brought up the fact that the Pacers haven’t been winning on the road, while in Indianapolis the Pacers are 24-8 on their home court. Getting back to last night’s game, the Hawks were down by 28 points, and in the fourth quarter the Pacers began to get worse instead of better. They also began to create problems of their own, because they kept turning over the ball. They forgot to play all four quarters! You have to bring consistency every night in the playoffs, or teams will find your weakness and take it to you. Even though the Pacers did win 100-94, I have questions, such as what happened to the way you had played the defending champs all year long? How come the Hawks were able to come in to “I town” and nearly defeat the Pacers? Where is the commitment to playing good solid basketball? I know you have people hurt but still, where is the mentality it takes to win a championship? I know Frank is trying his best, so I have no reason to attack him. But you guys also beat the Heat two games to one, and then you let the Hawks come in and split the series with you.
