Just when many observers, including yours truly, were ready to write the blue and gold off when it came to the championship, they showed some heart in game two in the Washington series. I didn’t think the Pacers had any heart left, and also thought it was going to be all over back in game seven in the Atlanta series. I can now say that the Pacers made me eat crow! Frank Vogel somehow found a way to hang on to his job. Just when you think that Bird should peck him, Frank got a masterful performance out of Roy Hibbert, who I have been calling “Tiny Roy”. I do have to say that one game does not make a series, but it was certainly nice to hear Bankers Life cheering rather than booing. That means that Pacers nation has faith in their Pacers, and also means that Pacers nation believes that the blue and gold can still end up on top of the NBA world, and I do too. In the words of a certain Hall of Famer Bobby Slick Leonard “get the ball in to the big man!” and we have to believe in each other. We have to take what we did in game two and transfer it to Washington. It is going to be fun, because Boyle will have Michael O’Grady with him in Washington, and I am really excited to hear him again. I think Michael O’Grady brings a whole new excitement to the game, because not only do I get to hear him over the PA while he is firing up Bankers Life, but I also get to hear him when he is with the best announcer in the world.
