It has always been a goal of mine to bring purple coverage to you, the Bismarck/Mandan area fans, of the Minnesota Vikings through my observations of Vikings television and radio broadcasts.

My hopes are to provide you with my observations of the Vikings performance during their regular season games and hopefully this year to be playing on their home field, US Bank Stadium, for Super Bowl LII.

Can the Vikings led by Head Coach Mike Zimmer improve on their .500 season of last year and avoid the key injuries along the offensive line that befell them? Will Sam Bradford be able to benefit from pre season workouts and training camp for the first time as the Vikings quarterback and see stability with offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur for the entire season? How will the departure of All Star running back Adrian Peterson affect the offensive unit this year? Can second year receiver and 2016 first round draft pick Laquon Treadwell be productive this season?

In my opinion, the Vikings should have no trouble without AP, because of the current running back trio of veteran Jerick Mckinnon, free agent acquisition Latavius Murray, and rookie Dalvin Cook to give defensive coordinators more headaches on how to stop the Vikings ground game this year.

If the Vikings can play a full 60 minutes each game and avoid the lapses at the end of games they experienced last year, not to mention the injuries, I see no reason that this team can’t finish with a record of 11-5 and reclaim their title of NFC North Champions.
