Indianapolis Motor Speedway

On a day when Kyle Busch was driving for history, everything was going smoothly in Stage 1 until Busch had an encounter with Martin Truex Jr. who seems to be winning every week this NASCAR season.

If it wasn’t for bad luck, Hendrick Motor Sports would have no luck at all. Their bad luck started when the # 88 car blew an engine, and it continued when the # 24 car lost a cylinder and ended up going to the garage. It continued once more when seven time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson went into the wall on the supposedly second-to-last lap, where he was trying to get the lead with Brad Keselowski and eventual winning driver Kasey Kahne.

Kahne had not won a race since August of 2014 in Atlanta, and he will not be able to defend this championship until the last week of the regular season in September next year.

In my opinion, the later race date next year will be good, because of the better chance of cooler temperatures. The drivers will not be facing 130 degree temperatures in their cars as they did yesterday, and that should lead to better on track racing.
