On Saturday, it was time to play for the Dakota Marker, which had been in Fargo for the past four years. But the rascally rabbits from Brookings managed to down the defending champion Bison 27-17. This tilt had a lot of extra spice added to it. The winner of the matchup was assured a number one seed in the playoffs. The loser would have a 6-2 mark and an unsure future as to whether the Bison would make the NCAA playoffs, and whether they would defend their title. The Bison have a well known program under former head coach Chris Kleiman, who is now at Kansas State, and former head bull Craig Bohl, who is now with Wyoming. Matt Entz, who took over for Kleiman, is trying to climb the mountain for a ninth time by winning the national championship in Frisco, otherwise known as Fargo South. If the Bison are successful, they would set a new NCAA record for the number of football titles. Matt Entz still has the rest of the country smelling like cow pies. Just when you thought you could get rid of the Bison, they continue to snort. The Bison will play Eastern Washington next Saturday at 2:30 in the Fargodome.
