Last night, the Minnesota Twins were walloped by the Oakland A’s in a twin bill. According to Dan Gladden, he knew Oakland’s manager Bob Melvin, because they were teammates when Gladden played baseball for the Giants. Gladden was telling the listening audience he was not happy talking about an A’s home run. He was referring to 40 year old Mitch Moreland. The Twins’ pitching has been suspect to say the least. That’s why they only have six wins and 10 losses. You would think the Twins could figure it out. Twins pitcher Matt Shoemaker was unable to make his shoes shine, and Oakland tattooed Shoemaker and made him have scuff marks on his shoes. The biggest pain in the neck in the first game was Mitch Moreland, as he ransacked the Twins starting pitcher by hitting two inexcusable cookies over the wall and toward the ocean. The Twins looked like the Detroit Tigers in both games. The Tigers and the Twins mirror each other in the season because the Twins are supposed to be champions. This was a team that won the Central last year, and looked like anything but a paper champion this year. It was more of the same in game two, minus the gopher ball. The only talley on the night was from a guy named Seth Brown. Matt Olson trotted home to make the Twins have a Brown nose. The next game is at the Oakland Coliseum today at 2:37, where the Twins hope to bounce back from yesterday’s Oakland A thrashing.
