It was a match up that the Tigers should have dominated from the start. Anibal was on his A game from the beginning, which really helped the Tigers gain an advantage over a team that is not very good. The Tigers needed to get their losing attitude out of the way, after an unacceptable road trip where the real Tigers were in hibernation. I wasn’t sure if the Tigers were even going to make the playoffs, because the way it looked the Tigers wanted the Tribe to get back in the race. Especially when they went to Boston with a chance to get a hold of the best record in the league, but then they didn’t even show up to play. I wonder how Jim Leyland was doing when the Tigers were losing? He had to be pretty upset. It was nice to see the boys rebound from the embarrassment in Boston, and get to Chicago and win the series. The Tigers magic number is 11 for their third straight central crown. That means any combination of 11 Tribe losses, and 11 Tigers win and Jim Leyland, along with Dave Dombrowski, can wear the crown for the third straight year. As for Miguel Cabrera, he still has time to catch Chris Davis of Baltimore for the home run crown. He leads in the overall batting average and RBI’s, but the category he is behind in is home runs. That may be due to his hip injury, but if anyone can take down Davis it should be one of the greatest baseball players of all time Miguel Cabrera. As far as Max Scherzer is concerned, so what if he has three losses? The overall record is still 19-3, ladies and gentlemen. Why would Dave Dombrowski not sign someone like that? It is going to be a very interesting off season for Dombrowski, because some of the players that we enjoy watching are free agents. If he didn’t re-sign any of the players currently on the Tigers roster, then that would be an absolutely dumb move. Not only would Dave be making a dumb move, but AL Avilla would be too. Especially not to re-sign your own son. Baseball is a business, but I think that Dave should try and re-sign as many players as possible.
