It was a special day for Ryan Newman, who is a native of South Bend, Indiana. It was also special because Ryan proved his boss wrong. This couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, because Ryan will be out of a job at the end of the year and it proves that Tony may have made a mistake by hiring Kevin Harvick and letting Ryan go. It was not only a great day for Ryan, it was a great day for all of the Hoosier nation. For once we’ve got a guy from my home state winning one of NASCAR’s crown jewels, and for once we don’t have to hear about Jimmy Johnson. The spoils of victory go to a real Hoosier. As far as Tony’s choice to let Ryan go, it’s really a dumb move. You should have kept Ryan, Tony. I don’t care about the money because Ryan is a real Hoosier and I feel Tony made the wrong decision. As far as Ryan getting the win, it was a great day for Tony’s team. Who knows what we will be covering at the Poconos, but for now I am going to be talking a lot about the Rocket man. Ryan Newman gets a lot of credit for what he did to the 48 team in his home state. Jimmy Johnson lost the pole to Ryan Newman at the last minute. It was a great Brickyard 400. If you recall in my earlier post, I said that Ryan Newman was going to be the dark horse to win the Brickyard. AND HE DID IT!!! He stood up to five time champion Jimmy Johnson and beat him at his own game.
