Ian Motschenbacher had a night that the Century Patriots would like to forget. He was the leading scorer for the Fargo Davies Eagles, who soared over the Patriots on Thursday night 84-72 in the State Class A Tournament. As a result, the Patriots are now only able to finish as high as fifth in the State. The Patriots are certainly a team that can bounce back. They face their cross town rivals in consolation play today. The Patriots will have to watch Treyson Eaglestaff, who poured in 31 points for the Demons last night, but Demons also were saddled with an “L” like the Patriots, losing 87-64 to the defending champion Packers, who are a force to be reckoned with. Good luck to Mr. Darin Mattern as he leads the Patriots in the rest of the tournament. Jeremiahboyce.com was there at the Event Center last night to watch the Patriots and the Eagles battle it out.

I also would like to acknowledge Minot, who won yesterday in overtime against the Fargo North Spartans. Minot is my pick to win it all. Only time will tell. Coming in to Thursday’s action, Minot was 22-2. You can go ahead and make them 23-2, which is what they are after their overtime win.
