After winning the West, it isn’t going to be easy, but I think that Coach Mattern and the Patriots will be crowned Kings of the whole state on Saturday night in Fargo. It all starts tonight at 6pm when Fargo Shanley tries to stop William Ware and Ryan Erickson. So far, the Eagles of Fargo Davies are trying to spoil the West party by downing the Blue Jays of Jamestown, led by Jacoby Lloyd. Tonight is going to be a big test for the Darin Mattern led Patriots, but can Shanley put the kibash on the Patriots as a team? I expect Coach Mattern to have them well prepared to battle the Deacons. And I expect a lot of grabbing and fouling to emanate from both teams. When will Coach Mattern receive his first technical foul? People around this reporter have been talking a lot about how Coach Mattern should have been teed up last weekend during the WDA tournament. I don’t think that should matter. The players are what should matter, not the coaches. Even though the Patriots are undefeated, that shouldn’t matter one bit in how Red River is going to play. I really think that if you’re undefeated, a consolation title shouldn’t matter.
