On Sunday afternoon, the Purdue Boilermakers won their conference postseason tournament over the Nittany Lions of Penn State. It was fun to listen to the game on WAZY in my home town of Lafayette, Indiana. Rob Blackman and former Boilermaker Bobby “Buckets” Riddell were on the call. As soon as the Lions turned the ball over on what could have been a disastrous winning possession, the Boiler Nation could exhale. With yesterday’s win, the Boilers improved to 29-5. They are going to have to play much better if West Lafayette hopes to win a national championship. Purdue is the number one seed out of the East, and they will play in Columbus, Ohio on Friday at 6 pm. Yesterday after the game, WAZY was talking to freshman guard Fletcher Loyer. He is a big reason why Purdue has 29 wins and only 5 losses on the season. The big maple leaf, Zach Edey, is another reason why they are a number one seed. He averages 22.3 points and 12.8 rebounds. Matt Painter, can you please win a national title?
