On Wednesday morning at the VFW Sports Center, we talked to one of the key participants in last week’s rally against Brookings, though the Cats still came up two goals short. Joe Tyran talked about everything Highway 83, including one of the dirtiest players in the Bobcats/Tauros rivalry. Tyran said that when it comes to John Walker, you have to let the zebras handle him. He is just trying to draw a penalty for the Minotauros. John is trying to be an irritant for the Bobcats, and get under Bismarck’s skin. He tries to hook and slash you. It’s the Bobcats’ job to not let Walker get under their skin, if they want to emerge victorious from the VFW and the Maysa, on Friday and Saturday. Joe also gave us his three keys to a Bobcat four point weekend. The Bobcats have been working on better movement, and crisper passing around the ice. His last key is penalty kills. When the Bobcats mess around with the puck along the boards, that’s when other teams take advantage. When they bobble the puck, and create an opportunity, that’s when other teams usually find the back of the net.
