Bismarck, ND
It’s Wednesday Bobcat fans, with that being said it was time to check in with # 27, Garrett Roth, and discuss Bobcat hockey.
The team that we love and root for is coming off a road weekend split where they lost 4-1 on Friday, but thanks to goalie Severi Isokangas blanked the Aberdeen Wings 2-0 on Saturday at the Odde Ice Center. The Saturday victory gives the Bobcats a total of 42 points still leaving them in the basement of the NAHL Central Division, trailing the Wings by seven points for the final playoff spot. The good thing is that the Bobcats host the Scott Langer coached Wings this weekend at the VFW Den, where they hope to barbecue the Wings and pick up an important four points to keep playoff hopes alive. The Bobcats can ill afford to play .500 hockey for the remainder of the season for any dream of making the NAHL playoffs.
According to Assistant Coach Garrett Roth, the Bobcats need to neutralize the Wings rush game and do a better job of clearing the front of the net and winning the wall battles. Our penalty kill was fantastic on Saturday, we worked really hard and did a nice job of keeping the Wings on the perimeter.
We hope to see you at the VFW “Den” this weekend and lets make some noise and back the Bobcats in their playoff hunt.
