Steven Kwan is one of the most dangerous human beings in Cleveland. Just when you thought it was heading to extra innings, Kwan hit a game winning home run that lifted the Guardians past the Philadelphia Phillies 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Also on Sunday afternoon, the Minnesota Twins tamed the Tigers 5-0 at Comerica Ballpark in Detroit, Michigan. Which did not help the Twins in the race for the Central Division, and they still remain 4 1/2 games behind the Guardians. However, the Tigers have a chance to maul the Guardians coming up on Monday night in downtown Detroit. The Twins are going to take a bite out of the Big Apple this week by facing the New York Mets for three games. I think that when yours truly is in Minneapolis on August 9, we could be looking at a Central Division showdown. The Tigers did not look like a ferocious animal today, but I hope that Dan Dickerson and Andy Dirks call a mauling of the Guardians this week. I hope the Tigers are hungry.
