In the NFL, you have to get used to changes. And for Carson Wentz, first he was an Eagle, and then he was an Indianapolis Colt. He was also a backup on the world champion KC Chiefs behind Patrick Mahomes. Now he is with the Purple in a backup role behind JJ McCarthy. I don’t like the backup role because to me, he is a capable quarterback. Just ask the Philadelphia Eagles. He was in a starting role in Philadelphia, but now he is subject to being a backup, which I think is a bunch of garbage. I do not like the way Kevin O’Connell treats his charges. I know that he was named the coach of the year, but that was only due to the Vikings record. KOC should know better than to only play his starting quarterback in one preseason game and then anoint him as the starting quarterback. That’s not how Coach Boyce would do it. I would keep two or three quarterbacks and then I would make one of them the starter, because you never know what might happen to JJ. I hope Carson gets a chance to play, but McCarthy has the keys to the ignition. I just don’t think that playing your starter only one preseason game is the way to go.
