Bismarck, North Dakota. The Bismarck Bobcats did well on Friday, wrangling the North Iowa Bulls 5-1. Saturday, defense was optional, and saving the puck was unacceptable. The Bulls won in overtime 5-4, but the Bobcats still have a winning record at 11-4-1. The game was filled with PIM’s because neither team would settle down and just play hockey. They were more interested in fighting than playing the game and doing their job. And because of that, defense was lackluster. If I was coach Garrett Roth, I would tell the team to knock off the fighting and just play the game of hockey. Hockey is simple when you actually play the game. If the Bobcats are to get back to the Robertson Cup, they need to quit fighting. The Bobcats are the second most penalized team in the Central Division.
The Bobcats are in the midst of a three series home stand. The St. Cloud Norsemen are coming to Bismarck to battle the Cats in a two game series on Friday and Saturday.
