Brookings, SD. After a debacle in Bismarck against Minot, the Bobcats headed six hours to Brookings to meet up with the former Alexandria Blizzard. Getting off the bus, they brought their championship brand of hockey, finally, and parlayed that into a full 60 minutes and the result was a 2-1 win. Now the question is did they leave their consistency in Brookings, or did they load it up and bring back it to the den? In goal for Bismarck last night was a veteran of Bobcat hockey, Aaron Nelson. If anybody should know how to play, it should be him, and it showed. He was your number 1 star last night, stopping 38 out of 39 shots. The Bobcats are finally above .500. Having coach Roth should help the younger guys, because he is a great person to learn from. He knows what championship hockey should look like. Layne should know, too, but I will make the same point I made yesterday. Layne and Garrett do not wear the uniform. They just show the guys video and install the game plan, it’s up too the men in uniform to follow it. Why am I so upset, you ask? Because of the Cats’ inconsistency. Win one, lose one, is not how you get the job done, gentlemen. I have a championship ring from the Byron Pool era. That ring is what you earn when you play consistently.
