Every four years, countries of the the world come together to compete for medals at the Olympics. This year, Japan is the host country. On Friday, it was time for opening ceremonies. On the basketball court, the USA took one on the chin, losing to France and falling to 0-1 in Olympic play. Meanwhile, on the pitch, the USA women’s soccer team fell to Sweden 3-0. The USA team is the defending gold medalist. And on the softball diamond, the USA is one win away from claiming the gold medal. The next article will come up on Tuesday morning, and the USA will be on the pitch at 4am on the USA Network. This article wouldn’t be complete without the medal count.
